2nd & Pine construction tops out at 440 ft
November 5, 2016
Rising 40 stories above the streets of downtown Seattle, the construction of GBD’s design for 2nd & Pine has topped out. Final beams have been placed that will make up the tower’s penthouse, that sits 440 ft above the sidewalk.
During the tower’s construction, over the last year, 2nd and Pine has taken on a commanding presence alongside the city’s many downtown sky scrapers. The slender, sculpted massing of 2nd & Pine will provide an elegant and modern addition to Seattle’s unique skyline while adding 300,000 sf of new luxury apartments to Seattle’s explosive housing market. Designed as a joint venture between GBD and Weber Thompson, the building will consist of 400 residential apartments, ground floor retail, and 300 parking stalls. The amenity rich residential tower will include a rooftop lounge and terrace with fireplaces, as well as a movie theatre and fitness center.
2nd and Pine is on track to complete construction in June of 2017 and is targeting a LEED Silver rating from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
