NAU Flagship

NAU (pronounced: now) is a Portland-based sustainable apparel company. For their flagship store, located at corner of NW 11^th & Everett, GBD teamed with ENGIN Creative to deliver a 3,000 square foot retail environment that reflects the core values of NAU: sustainability, style & performance.

The design delivers a clean, contemporary and efficient space that lives much larger than its modest size. The project minimizes its environmental impact by reusing the majority of the existing building shell, along with interior finishes of FSC certified white oak, and low VOC laminates and paints. Energy efficient LED lighting balances natural daylight from the south and west-facing storefronts. Inspired by the success of this location, NAU plans to significantly increase their brick-and-mortar presence in the coming years.
